Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays ever! I already had my first “Thanksgiving dinner” earlier this evening, and I’m going on to rounds two and three tomorrow. The food is just sooo good! Unfortunately, I will probably gain five pounds or more in just a three day span…but hey, I’ll work it off later, right? Anyway, there are so many things to be thankful for, especially in my life, this year. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with such an amazing company like MakeupTalk, and the list goes on and on. When asked at dinner what I am thankful for I go through the same rundown as most people: family, friends, health and so on, but once all of the important stuff has been covered I get a little silly and add makeup to the list. In some sense I guess being thankful for makeup goes hand in hand with the opportunity to work with MakeupTalk…or at least I’ll stretch it a little because that sounds pretty darn good! Here are the products that I am “thankful” for this year!
The first product to land on my list is bareMineral’s SPF 15 Mineral Foundation in Fairly Light. This is my holy grail item…you don’t even understand. Well, you might, but this stuff truly is incredible! I have had acne since I was 7 so my face is always bumpy, red and scarred. I’ve said this many times before, but this was the first foundation I ever used and I swear by it to this day. I am very self conscious about my skin, and this helps cover almost every single imperfection. Some people say that they would have never known I had acne unless I told them. So with my self esteem in mind, this has to be the number one product that I am beyond thankful for!
Number two goes to Benefit’s Dandelion Boxed Powder. This soft pink blush/highlighter works wonders, especially when I’m running on three hours of sleep and my skin is dull and tired. I’ve almost gone through an entire box of this miracle worker and I can promise you I will be repurchasing! This has been included in some of my previous posts as well, but I just sweep it on my cheeks, forehead, and in a C shape around my temples. It instantly freshens my face and gives me that enviable well-rested type of glow.
This isn’t really considered “makeup”, but Blistex’s Raspberry Lemonade Blast has been a product that I am very thankful for lately. Here in Tennessee the weather has just recently taken a turn to the blistery cold windy days. My lips were definitely suffering until I got this. It doesn’t have that yucky medicated Chapstick taste. Instead, it is filled with yummy raspberry lemonade goodness! It keeps my lips super smooth and healthy, and it tastes so good I could almost eat it like candy!
I can live without full eyeshadow and liner, but if I am wearing mascara a subtle inner corner and under brow highlight is a must! MAC’s eyeshadow in Phloof! is one that I have hit pan on multiple times. My mom gave me my first one for Christmas like 4 years ago, and I’ve loved it ever since. It’s the perfect shimmery champagne color, with just the right amount of pinky purple undertones. Like the Dandelion powder, this gives my eyes a rested look and brings a slight pop to my face. I love this shadow and all of the awesome looks it helps me create!
There are many days where I will just quickly apply the previous four products along with L’Oreal’s Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara, and go! I have put this mascara in many different posts, but I just couldn’t leave it out of this list. It is honestly the best mascara I have ever used. I tried all sorts of options, from expensive to dirt cheap, but none separate and lengthen my lashes with perfection like this one. If you don’t believe me by now, I don’t know what else would convince you. Just trust me, and give the seven dollar tube a shot!
I know there are far more important things to be thankful for, but being the beauty fanatic that I am, I like having a little fun by adding makeup items to the list. What products are you “thankful” for this year?
