Beauty From The Earth (otherwise known as BFTE) Cosmetics mineral eyeshadows are multi-use minerals that are paraben-free. Using BFTE’s eyeshadows was my first experience with a mineral eyeshadow and, to be quite honest, I wasn’t expecting much. I had always steered clear of mineral products for fear they’d be messy and just wouldn’t perform well. I had heard good things about BFTE, so when I was gifted with five of them, I figured I would give them a try! The five eyeshadows I’ll be reviewing in this post are:

  • Chenille – An icy pink with subtle shimmer.
  • Fire Dancer – A brick red with silver glitter.
  • Mutiny – A rusted bronze with subtle shimmer.
  • Blue Pacific – A traditional blue with blue micro-sparkle.
  • Casablanca Nights – A navy blue with blue glitter.

Each of the Multi-Use Minerals come packaged in 5 gram sifter jars and have a convenient sticker over-top the sifter. Without the sticker, I didn’t find I had a problem with too much product coming out, but if you prefer, you could use a toothpick to poke out only a few holes from the sticker. This will reduce the amount of product that comes out when tapped. The sifter jars lids screw on easily and remove easily. I didn’t experience any problems, such as the lid not screwing on correctly, etc. The plastic is a bit thin, but I don’t find the packaging to be shotty – it’s most likely typical to most mineral products. The product label, including the color, is conveniently labeled on the bottom of the packaging. The label also contains the ingredients for each shade as well as the exact product weight, which is 1-3 grams.

I was pleasantly surprised to find all of the eyeshadows were very pigmented and smooth! Even the sheerer shades had great color payoff and I didn’t find any was extremely messy (i.e. fallout). The darker shades (Fire Dancer and Casablanca Nights) did have a bit of fallout, but I’m assuming that’s due to the fact they are highly rich in color and have glitter rather than shimmer. The other shades (Chenille, Mutiny and Blue Pacific) didn’t have any fallout and the shimmer was just subtle enough to appear more like a sheen than anything else. Chenille is my most favorite shade out of all of them!

With use of a primer, each of the BFTE eyeshadows wore extremely well throughout the day and the lighter shades didn’t crease on me at all. (Please keep in mind, I have oily eyelids, so no matter what eyeshadow I use, I still get creasing towards the end of the day.) The darker shades held strong for 6+ hours before creasing.

I love how easily all of the BFTE shadows applied and how well they blended out. With this being my first experience with mineral products, I’m extremely pleased and am definitely more willing to try other mineral products. Since my experience with BFTE was so good, I would most certainly purchase from them in the future!
